One of my liberal friends, who apparently did not bother to listen to the speeches during the RNC (or the DNC for that matter.), posted on FB the picture of, one, Abby Johnson, as a representative of all other speakers there.
Now, I have never heard of Abby Johnson before, and I don’t really care about what she had tweeted months before. The problem is that my liberal friend has chosen to paint the whole conference with something this particular person had said on tweeter. That is wrong, and prompted me to write the following post:
So, we are all advised not to argue with people on Face. We all know it is a waste of time and can open you up to attacks. However, you are such a decent, nice person that I cannot help trying to make you see the truth. Please don’t take this as condescending or offensive, I am just presenting my viewpoint.
It seems that all you got from the RNC nights is one pro-life activist, no one has ever heard of, that happened to had tweeted something stupid months ago. Great! What about the swearing of the new citizens? – Nothing. Melania’s speech – nothing. Tim Scott (from cotton to Congress) – nothing. Daniel Cameron – nothing. Vernon Jones (mental plantation) – nothing. Andrew Polack (why Meadow) – nothing.
And so many others. What I saw at the RNC was compassion, pride, love for America, call for unity and hope for the future.
What I saw at the DNC, was doom and gloom, hate, lies and plain stupidity.
I am an independent and not anybody’s “base”, and nobody was pandering to me, but I know which side I am with:
I am with truth, love of country and respect to our flag; I am against lies, kneeling and burning the flag.
I am for law and order; I am against looting, destruction and riots
I am for more funding for police to better train and improve policing; I am against defunding and dismantling police departments.
I am for freedom and entrepreneurship; I am against socialism and tyranny of thought.
I am for inclusion and unity; I am against divisiveness, and persecution of the other that thinks differently.
I am for Israel and peace in the Middle East; I am against anti-Semitism and BDS.
I am for legal immigration; I am against open borders
I saw the things I am for at the RNC, and what I am against, at the DNC. Maybe you could too, if you actually listened instead of digging out a twit of a nobody, to paint the whole convention with. So make up your mind, what things are you for, and what you are against, and see which side you’re with.
Now, for a truly representative speech at the RNC, here is Senator Tim Scott:
