The New York Times Lies Again

In today’s NYT Newsletter, David Leonhardt “explains” how the labor shortage is a myth, and it is nothing but a sign that wages are too low, and the corporate fat cats are not willing to pay proper wages blah blah blah…

Basically, he says, it’s a problem of supply and demand, and it will correct itself when corporations will offer higher wages. At least, he is looking up to Capitalism to fix the problem, unlike the idiots on the left with their socialist agenda.

However, one thing is missing from this wonderful thesis of his. The fact that the government is now paying people not to work with the massive Covid Relief Bill. In all of his long article, trying to debunk the “myth”, he doesn’t even mention it. But this is a fact, with the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) program, people can now get 75% of their previous wages plus a $1,400 stimulus check, plus a tax credit on unemployment income. So why go to work? And this is not a myth, these are the facts, David.
